Jess is a registered Architect in the ACT (registration number #2526). She graduated from the University of Canberra in 2004 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Architecture, and in 2007 with a Masters of Architecture.
Jess established de Rome Architects in 2013. Prior to this, she worked at Bill Szydlik Architects from 2004 to 2007, and at Stewart Architecture from 2007 to 2013. In 2008 Jess became an Associate at Stewart Architecture and managed a variety of large architectural projects.
Jess has been employed at the University of Canberra intermittently since 2009 as a Sessional Tutor for architecture design studios. She has been involved in both the Masters and Undergraduate programs, and continues to return as a guest Jury member for design critique sessions.
Jess stays engaged with the architecture profession and community through various involvements. She has recently been a member of the University of Canberra Education Advisory Group, the Institute of Architects Emerging Architects Committee, and the Consult Australia FutureNet Committee. She has been a main Jury member for the ACT Architecture Awards, and has contributed to various exhibitions and publications for the Institute of Architects.
Ursula has worked at de Rome Architects since 2015, and is a talented and valued member of staff.
Ursula graduated from the University of Canberra in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. Prior to this, she studied a Bachelor of Art History & Curatorship, from 2011 to 2013.
Ursula was the highest performing student in her undergraduate architecture degree, and was awarded the John Redmond Prize for this achievement. She has been awarded the Dean’s Excellence Award in both 2014 and 2015, and Ursula’s student work was shortlisted in the Cox Student Design Prize in 2015. Ursula was also awarded a Scholarship in both 2015 and 2018 to undertake a university short course in Japan.
Ursula will complete her Masters of Architecture in 2018.
