LAKE HOUSE

WHY

The site is a large lakefront rural block, which rises steeply to the top of the hilly ridge. A new home is sought to be a quiet, comfy sanctuary, which takes in the view and nestles within the hilly landscape.

HOW

The proposed building form is long and linear to best lie along the steep hill, and to create a long facade to capture views from all bedrooms and living spaces. The house has been located as high on the hill as geotechnically possible, and the articulation of the form reflects structural provisions, such as the heavy retaining walls, contrasted with the hovering framed lightweight elements.
